Cosmic rate of type IIn supernovae and its evolution with redshift

چکیده
Type IIn supernovae potentially constitute a large fraction of the gravitationally lensed predicted to be found with upcoming facilities. However, local rate is used for these estimates, which assumed independent properties such as host galaxy mass. Some studies hint that mass bias may exist supernovae. This paper aims provide an updated supernova-to-core-collapse ratio based on data from Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) and Zwicky Facility (ZTF) Bright Survey (BTS). Furthermore, goal investigate dependency supernova peak magnitude consequences possible preference volumetric type We constructed approximately volume-limited subsamples determine ratio. investigated absolute subsample superluminous II or exploring how this relates i-band galaxies (as proxy stellar mass). presented method quantify effect potential low-mass utilizing UniverseMachine algorithm. If were described by power law model $IIn/CC = 0.15 \cdot \log(M/M_{\odot})^{-0.05}$, we would expect slightly elevated redshifts beyond 3.2.

Detecting Z > 2 Type Iin Supernovae
Type IIn supernovae (SNe IIn) dominate the brightest supernova events in observed FUV flux (∼1200 − 2000Å). We show that multi-band, multi-epoch optical surveys complete to mr = 27 can detect the FUV emission of ∼25 z > 2 SNe IIn deg yr rest-frame (∼10 SNe IIn deg yr observed-frame) to 4σ using a technique monitoring color-selected galaxies. Moreover, the strength and evolution of the bright em...

Testing Cosmic Acceleration with Type Ia Supernovae
We discuss recent evidence for an accelerating Universe from measurements of type Ia supernovae at high redshift, and describe tests of various systematic effects such as extinction and evolution that could be biasing the cosmological result. Continued observations of these objects, both over a wider wavelength region and at higher redshift, should provide strong evidence in favor or against th...
متن کاملExtraordinary Late - Time Infrared Emission of Type Iin Supernovae
Near-Infrared (NIR) observations are presented for five Type IIn supernovae (SN 1995N, SN 1997ab, SN 1998S, SN 1999Z, and SN 1999el) that exhibit strong infrared excesses at late times (t & 100 d). H and K -band emission from these objects is dominated by a continuum that rises toward longer wavelengths. The data are interpreted as thermal emission from dust, probably situated in a pre-existing...
متن کاملThe Redshift Distribution of Type-Ia Supernovae: Constraints on Progenitors and Cosmic Star Formation History
We use the redshift distribution of type-Ia supernovae (SNe) discovered by the Supernova Cosmology Project to constrain the star formation history (SFH) of the Universe and SN Ia progenitor models. Given some of the recent determinations of the SFH, the observed SN Ia redshift distribution indicates a long (>∼ 1h −1 Gyr) mean delay time between the formation of a stellar population and the expl...
